Chilling childhood photos of some of history's most evil people
Everyone was young once
This bored looking kid is Alexander Pichushkin. After suffering from possible brain damage as a child and living through a hellish lifetime of bullying, persecution and alcoholism Pichushkin fell into a murderous spiral. He was responsible for a string of killings between 1992 and 2006. It is thought he could be responsible for between 49 and 60 deaths. He is serving life in prison with the first 15 years to be served in solitary confinement.
This handsome lad with the enigmatic smile grew up to be infamous dictator Joseph Stalin. There is much debate about how many deaths Stalin and his regime were responsible for, but the estimates are between 10 and 20 million people as a result of assassinations, famine and acts of war.
Ted Bundy is very much considered the poster boy for serial killers. The handsome and unassuming young man confessed to 30 murders although most agree the true figure is likely to be higher. How did this cheeky little cowboy grow up to be a vile killer, rapist and necrophiliac?
This photograph of a young boy and his dog would not look out of place in any family album. However, that little guy grew up to be Jeffrey Dahmer the serial killer who was judged to be legally sane during his trial meaning he was in full control of all of his faculties when he murdered 17 young men and boys. Dahmer was a rapist who indulged in both cannibalism and necrophilia. He was beaten to death in prison by other inmates.
Osama Bin Laden
Even as a child Osama bin Laden had a chilling look in his eye. He was born into a wealthy and influential family in Saudi Arabia and became a key figure in the Mujahadeen’s war on the Soviets in Afghanistan before founding al Qaeda and planning the 9/11 attacks.
This average looking teenager looks like someone you wouldn’t mind your kids hanging out with, but he grew up to be one of the most prolific serial killers in America. Gary Ridgway murdered 49 women and was also found guilty of necrophilia. He was sentenced to life with no parole options.
Even as a child Heinrich Himmler had a severe look about him. He grew up to be one of the most powerful of the Nazi elite and was considered one of Hitler’s most trusted men. He was responsible for building and running the concentration camps and served as the head of the Gestapo. He also built the SS up from a small force to a terrifying power.
This little tyke grew up to be one of the most evil men in history – Charles Manson. As leader of the Manson Family cult believed that the murder of seven people was going to help trigger a race war in America.
John Wayne Gacy
Even in this photo of John Wayne Gacy as a boy, something seems to be troubling him. Gacy was dubbed the killer clown after murdering 33 young men by luring them to his home. The murders were made more chilling by the fact that Gacy was a children’s clown by day. He was executed in 1994 after 14 years on death row.
Emperor Showa (Hirohito)
Patriotic even from a young age, Hirohito ruled Japan from 1928 until 1989. In 1937, he authorized the occupation of China’s capital during the second sino-japanese war. Over a period of 6 weeks his troops systematically raped and murdered Chinese civilians in what is known as either The Rape of Nanking or The Nanking Massacre. An estimated 300,000 lost their lives.
